Our mission is to provide rigorous self-help programs in a safe, caring residential setting to support men, most of whom are veterans, who are transitioning from the cycle of poverty, substance abuse and homelessness to self-sufficiency.Volunteer groups having been serving the residents of The Baltimore Station meals for many years, saving us thousands of dollars a year in food costs, and building bridges and friendships along the way. We have been considering ways to work with our volunteers to allow them to continue the dinner program, without over extending them cost-wise, now that our resident population has doubled. With input from our loyal volunteers, we have come up with some strategies to weather this recession:
