Youth Prevention Program

Volunteers Needed

The Baltimore Station seeks your help to identify and set up work-type projects, where students have the opportunity to work side-by-side and interact with the residents to learn about addiction on a very personal level.

The Baltimore Station offers opportunities to youth groups, at-risk students, teen substance users, teen rehabilitation programs, church youth groups, and middle and high school student clubs to receive hands-on information about the social and health consequences of drug use. Volunteers are needed to identify interested youth groups to set up outreach sessions at schools or clubs, identify and organize visits to the center, or orchestrate work projects for the group and residents to work in tandem.

These sessions are led by our experienced counselors in conjunction with The Baltimore Station residents, who are presently addressing their addictions and related behaviors. The Station residents and counselors address topics that include instruction in:

The counselors and residents talk about how substance abuse affects all aspects of one’s life, and discussions will cover:

By engaging in long-term work projects, both the residents and the youth volunteers experience very positive outcomes, such as enhancing self-confidence, counteracting myths and stereotypes, and aiding decision-making and public commitment about to stop drug use.
